I sign this Domus Marmorea wallpaper as one signs a project in stone: with rigour, measure and a certain devotion to the antique. Its style is polished veined marble opened like a book — the technique the marble workers call bookmatched — composed here into a crustae revetment, the Roman art of dressing walls with marble slabs cut and set as mirror images.

The design shows large rectangular panels, joined in mirrored pairs along a vertical seam where the veins meet in symmetry, like a discourse folding back on itself.
