The story
I imagined the Arco d’Alabastro wallpaper as a threshold of light and rock, a natural opening onto the horizon that invites whoever looks at it to stop. It belongs to the Coast genre, the family of sea landscapes that WallZad interprets with photographic rigour and respect for the matter of the place: here it is the chalk arch of Étretat, with its isolated stack a little further off, that dominates the scene above a beach of pale shingle.
The great arch stands slightly off centre, hollow and massive at once, while the cliff rises behind it to a grassy edge; the needle of rock balances the other side of the composition, and all the rest is the breath of sea and sky. Close up you find the fine white strata of the rock, the flint nodules, the dark weed on the pebbles, the rippled line of low tide: details that keep the image alive even at the shortest distance, without ever losing its legibility from afar.
It is not only a landscape: it is a lesson in scale and in silence, the proof that nature, when it is left intact, composes a perfect architecture by itself.
