Bullonatura Concreta

I sign the Bullonatura Concreta wallpaper thinking of a surface that does not narrate but builds, module after module, its own geometry.

I work in the language of MAC, the Movimento Arte Concreta that taught us to trust pure form, flat colour, a rhythm that explains itself without need of story. It is in this alphabet that I composed a continuous mesh of hexagonal and trapezoidal plates, each edged with a fine line of rivets and dotted at the corners with pairs of bolts: identical modules, closed edge to edge, with no visible seams, like an industrial surface made to clad without interruption.

Graphite grey and steel blue set the measure, rust marks the step, and every so often a mustard-coloured plate breaks the cadence: an accent recalling that even the most absolute rigour needs an unexpected breath.

Close up, the fine lines of the rivets and the small circles of the bolts reward the eye that stops; from a distance the whole composes into a compact, almost mechanical weave that refuses illusory depth to stay faithful to the plane.
