The story
I sign the Filari d’Autunno wallpaper as an exercise in measure: no concession to the superfluous, only the discipline of a grid that organises the space into horizontal bands. It belongs to the grid/check style, the chequered grid that has always structured fabrics and surfaces with geometric rigour, handled here in an architectural key.
The design shows a dense lattice of horizontally elongated rectangles: each cell is a flat bar, wider than it is tall, set into regular rows and columns separated by fine gaps. The edges meet to the millimetre, so that the motif continues without a break from one wall to the next. The colours are full and decided — terracotta, anthracite, olive, cream — interrupted here and there by narrower bars that introduce a syncopation, a breath in an otherwise constant rhythm.
In this ordered cadence I find an idea of everyday balance: life, like the grid, is made of regular intervals and small variations that give it a voice. There is no hierarchy among the rectangles, only belonging to a larger design, a principle that speaks of silent community and of an order that does not oppress but supports.
