Fontane d’Ottone

In the Fontane d’Ottone wallpaper I wanted to hold the oldest gesture of festive architecture: water that rises, opens into a fan and falls back in a rhythm that never ends. Each fountain is a small geometric ceremony, a stepped base from which golden jets spring, framed by fluted shells, chevrons and lozenges that chase one another with the serene discipline of the nineteen-thirties.

I like to think that each jet tells of a cycle: the push upwards, the opening, the return. It is a discreet metaphor for time renewing itself without ever repeating identically, while staying faithful to its own design — just like this motif, made to repeat seamlessly along entire walls, keeping its harmony intact. The colour moves between antique and burnt gold, terracotta, dusty pink, petrol blue, deep emerald green and warm black, with a metallic gleam that appears only where it is needed, like a drop catching the light.
