Every square panel holds a Solomon’s knot, the two loops that interlace and cross twice until they close into a perfect design, with neither beginning nor end — an ancient symbol of bond and of eternity, rendered here with the true technique of tessellation, tessera after tessera, joint after joint.

The ordered grid of panels repeats like an imperial floor, but nothing is mechanical: the small square and trapezoidal tesserae carry the mark of the hand cut, slight irregularities that light the surface with authenticity. Terracotta red and warm ochre dance on the brown-black ground, while fine bone white lines separate one panel from the next, drawing a dense, close, hypnotic rhythm.
