The story
I call this design the Nuvole di Susino wallpaper because in it branch and cloud merge, as they did in the painting of a time when wind and flower shared the same brushstroke. My plum branches open into small coral flowers, among jade leaves and indigo veins, while scrolls of stylised cloud and light swallows cross the pale porcelain ground, never settling at a single point: every corner of the wall breathes the same diffused grace.
I wanted nothing to dominate, so that the eye could rest anywhere and find the same silent balance — blossom as a brief, recurring promise, cloud as a thought that passes and does not weigh. It is a motif that speaks of seasons returning, of a lightness that is not absence but measure, of an East imagined with restraint, never told, only evoked in a few gilded strokes.
