Passi d’Iride

It comes from a simple gesture — a compass, a rule, solid colours — the Passi d’Iride wallpaper: concentric arcs climbing over one another like the steps of a rainbow drawn with geometric precision. It is not a decorative whim but a rigorous construction, made of clean semicircular bands, each a flat field of matt colour meeting the next along a fine line, without gradation, without hesitation.

I like to think that geometry, when it is pure, can also be play. Here the groups of arcs are arranged with a calm asymmetry — a larger nucleus on the left, a smaller echo at the upper right — tied together by horizontal bands that cross the whole wall like a steady breath. The palette is that of warm materials: tonal earths, clay, terracotta, the deep ink of the outlines, petrol and dusty sage, and a thread of gold that discreetly traces the edge of some of the arcs.

For a child's room this cadence becomes light and gentle movement: a graphic landscape that accompanies a child's eye without ever shouting, that invites counting the arcs, following their rhythm, discovering close to the fineness of the gold thread. It is a geometry that is never cold, because it carries warmth and craft care within it.
