Rosone Solare

I sign the Rosone Solare wallpaper as one signs a breath: a single disc, built from rings that widen from one centre, each cut into four alternating segments where colour and void chase each other in a pinwheel rhythm. It is Orphism, the movement that chose pure colour as its only syntax, that guides every arc: flat bands, hard-edged, without gradation or outline, where tone meets tone along the curve.

At the centre of the composition, the circle reaches almost to the edges of the wall and floats alone on an even ground: a monumental rose window breathing in the empty space around it. Chrome yellow, vermilion, cobalt, violet and a chalky white alternate segment after segment, never two identical tones side by side, in a warm-cold chord that vibrates without ever losing geometric rigour. Close up, the rings reveal slightly irregular widths and the fine mark of the brush that traced each arc in a single sure gesture: the painted matter trembles quietly beneath the steady geometry.

I think of this disc as a fixed point able to cross any room — home, studio, welcoming space — without ever losing its centripetal tension.
