Scarto di Piano

So it comes, from the need to tell of an order that allows itself a deviation, the Scarto di Piano wallpaper: a design that belongs to Neoconcretism, the movement that freed geometry from rigidity to make it living matter, sensitive, almost breathing.

What I see, watching it spread across the wall, is an orthogonal grid of square modules, precisely aligned along one edge and, moving towards the opposite side, progressively slipping: they tilt, they stretch, they deform into parallelograms and oblique trapezoids. No gradation interrupts the flat fields of slate blue, terracotta and bone white; every module stays girded by a fine flush profile, like a rib that guards its perimeter even when the shape loses itself.

It is an image of time acting on structure, of an order that accepts being put to the test without breaking: the rule does not disappear, it bends, and in that bend it finds a new, discreet harmony. This is why Scarto di Piano does not tell of disorder, but of its possible measure.

At WallZad I wanted this geometric tension to stay intact on the paper, entrusting to Italian craftsmanship the fidelity of every line, of every shift of angle, so that the wall can receive, with contemporary calm, a design that moves while standing still.
