I am born as the Snodo di Vitebsk wallpaper, a gesture belonging to suprematism and its search for an absolute geometry, free of any reference to the visible world.

I am two rectangular bars of markedly unequal width meeting at a right angle: the wider runs horizontal, dominant, in deep black or dense red; the thinner rises vertical, in warm ochre or cadmium red, and their crossing does not fall at the centre of the field but shifts to one side, so that the whole breathes as if suspended rather than anchored. No shadow, no outline: only clean planes of pure colour, laid on a ground of raw ivory or chalk white, in a contrast that seeks not harmony but tension.

Seen close up, the edges of each bar reveal the slight imperfection of a line drawn by hand, a barely perceptible tremor that is the only detail allowed in an otherwise absolute geometric silence.
