Sprint di Tacchetti

In my Sprint di Tacchetti wallpaper I tell of running, of play, of the short breath of afternoons in the garden: football boots drawn in ink outline, clean side profile, laces, studs and tongue clearly recognisable, chasing one another in a cheerful crowd on a chalk-white ground. It is the Riso Playground style, that of flat, dense ink printing, without shading, which finds here its liveliest subject: every boot turns on itself, overlaps its neighbour, leaves the edge to reappear on the other side, stitching a continuous weave without gaps.

Navy blue dominates, broken here and there by a brick red and a mustard yellow that lift the rhythm like a shirt out of step with the team. Close up you find the tight cross-stitching and the studded soles, details that reward the curious eye — a child's, always ready to look for the weave beneath the surface.

I think of this Sprint di Tacchetti wallpaper as a portable playing field, able to turn a child's room into a place where running stays possible even standing still.
