Traiettoria Spezzata

I sign the Traiettoria Spezzata wallpaper as a throw that stops time: a javelin, tapered shaft and clean point, crosses the wall diagonally from the low left corner to the high right one, and in its passage divides the sky into two absolute fields.

It is the language of Italian second futurism that guides me: speed as painterly matter, not as effect. Above the shaft, a deep cobalt; below, a burnished, warm orange — two flat, decided planes that meet without blending along the line of the weapon. Behind the shaft, a fan of force lines drawn with a ruler leads the eye from one corner of the sheet to the other. Along the diagonal seam, small triangular fragments and concentric arcs repeat at decreasing scale, a minute record of the flight found only by looking close.

I do not tell of a sport: I tell of a threshold. The moment when a single push is enough to separate two worlds, to give direction to a space that had none. It is a young, proud image, needing no childhood to be welcomed — right for those who have stopped playing but not stopped throwing themselves forward.
