The story
In the Tremule d’Oro wallpaper I step into a forest of Colorado aspens, where pale, ashen trunks, marked by dark lenticels and small eye-shaped scars, rise densely and in parallel to a compact canopy of gold and amber leaves that closes the scene like a ceiling of light.
It is the forest, a genre that has always spoken of shelter and of time passing slowly, caught here at its most golden moment: the autumn that turns every trunk into a silent column and every leaf into a fragment of sun. Straw-coloured leaves settle on the ground, while patches of blue sky filter through the branches, a reminder that even in the density of the wood a chink of air remains.
I chose this landscape for its ability to slow the eye: a broad motif, legible from a distance, that reveals up close the fine weave of the bark and the drawing of every scar.
