Frattura Dorata

The Frattura Dorata wallpaper comes from a controlled breaking-up, a continuous field of irregular cells that fit together like the pieces of a mosaic that is never accidental. Each polygon is a flat-colour fragment, a breath of colour set beside the next without shadow and without hierarchy: no cell dominates, no point draws the eye more than another, and it is precisely in this absence of a centre that I find its quietest strength.

The joints between the shapes are drawn with fine gold lines, a metal thread that stitches the surface like a precious crack, a memory of old inlay and terrazzo techniques in which the fracture becomes ornament.
