Groviglio Cobalto

I draw the Groviglio Cobalto wallpaper as a dense interlace of curved leaves chasing one another with no room left for emptiness: in the tradition of Italian maiolica, cobalt, white and touches of ochre weave into a continuous plant motif, where each leaf — a simple paisley volute with a central rib — overlaps the next in a small, even rhythm, from one corner of the surface to the other.

No ground shows through, there is no pause: only the unbroken flow of the stems, knotting and loosening in a calm, almost breathed density. It is the silent celebration of the workshop, the repeated gesture of the brush on ceramic, translated here into a texture that wraps the wall without a break.
