The story
I sign the Passo Ramato wallpaper thinking of the silent step of one who crosses the wood unnoticed. It belongs to the Fauna family and carries its most authentic spirit: not an ornament, but a living presence, caught in its most natural gesture.
The design shows the fox, Vulpes vulpes, in strict profile: pointed muzzle, erect triangular ears, slender legs, thick tail with a contrasting tip. The figures alternate, turning in opposite directions, and the tails curve until they lock with the neighbouring bodies, in a mid-scale interlocking weave that repeats seamlessly. The technique is flat vector, clean fields and precise black outlines, without gradation: the rust red of the coat speaks with the cream of the muzzle and chest, while the charcoal of the legs and of the fine details — ears, brow, bands on the tail — sits on an ivory ground.
I like to think of this motif as a small domestic mythology: the fox, cunning and discreet, moving at the edge of sight and becoming, on the wall, constant company. It is a design that does not ask for attention; it deserves it. In the WallZad workshop every colour and every line is checked by hand before printing, so that the Passo Ramato wallpaper keeps, room after room, the same precision as the original drawing, the same warm liveliness of its colour.
