Piviere d’Indaco

It comes from an essential gesture, the Piviere d’Indaco wallpaper: a flight of plovers suspended over bands of seigaiha waves, as if sky and sea had stopped for a moment to let themselves be drawn. Every silhouette is brushed in black ink on a pale gesso ground, without shadow or depth: only the pure rhythm of the line, the frontal grace that belongs to the great decorative tradition of the Far East.

The indigo arches alternate with the small flocks in flight with the regularity of slow breathing; barely suggested threads of gold graze the wingtips and the wave crests, a discreet gleam that seeks measure rather than display.
