Sipario Ogivale

I call Sipario Ogivale the design I imagined as an architectural breath, able to cross without a break every wall it settles on. It belongs to the ogival style — the old Ogee motif of double-curved arches, reinterpreted here in graphic, contemporary terms — and shows a compact lattice of ogives: pointed lozenges born from the meeting of two mirrored arches that touch in clean cusps, aligned in close, unbroken vertical rows. From left to right the ogives grow steadily: small and tight at the edge, they then widen into broad ovals that mark the space with an ever wider rhythm, while the rows stay perfectly aligned. Burnt terracotta and petrol blue alternate on an ivory ground, and each shape holds within it two or three concentric echoes of its own arch, like circles tightening towards the centre.

To my mind this geometric crescendo speaks of time dilating, of energy that changes without ceasing to be itself: a quiet metaphor of expansion, suited to those who live in spaces meant to breathe widely — houses, offices, hospitality interiors.
