Torri di Confetti

In the Torri di Confetti wallpaper I imagined a playful skyline, where every tower is a totem of stacked shapes — rectangles, circles and arches following one another like the bricks of a retro toy. It is a vertical landscape born of the memory of the Seventies and Eighties, when graphics knew how to be bold without losing balance, and colour told a whole era in a few flat areas.

I worked in solid colour areas and clean outlines, but I let every line carry a slightly offset colour shadow, as in old screen prints when the colours never quite met. That imperfection, today, is the design's most genuine mark: it keeps the surface alive, makes it vibrate faintly, invites a closer look at where dots, scribbles and small terrazzo chips animate the blocks.

The palette runs through avocado and earth gold, mustard and terracotta, to the cooler notes of dusty teal and coral, always kept a little faded, like a poster that has lived. The tallest towers crowd to the left, creating an asymmetrical lift, while the lower ones spread to the right in a relaxed rhythm, right for accompanying the games and dreams of a bright child's room.
