Cerchi in Controtempo

The Cerchi in Controtempo wallpaper comes from a design I followed line by line myself: sets of concentric rings, three or four circles nested one inside the other, repeat on a regular grid and interlace with the circles of neighbouring centres, their edges crossing to generate slender lenses and small closed cells, like a weave of orbits that touch without merging. It is the Concentric Circles style, reinterpreted here with a flat vector technique, a clean even line, no focal point, in a density spread identically from one margin to the other.

Within an order of just three tones — deep ink blue, warm terracotta, lime white — every ring carries its own colour, and where the shapes overlap superimposed bands appear, separated by fine white fillets that draw each intersection with almost tailored precision. It is a rhythm that knows no hierarchy: every centre is worth the same as the next, every circle speaks to its neighbour in a silent counter-time, an interlacing that can be read as a metaphor of human relations — circles that touch while staying distinct, communities that brush against one another without losing their identity.

For this reason I wanted the wall to become pure interior, suited to any room, any natural light, any project of home, office or hospitality: a free wall, uncluttered, where the motif carries on beyond the margins and closes back on itself, invisible in its repetition.
