Traliccio Gemello

It is born like this, on the wall, the Traliccio Gemello wallpaper: a lattice of diagonal bars crossing to form a continuous weave of small lozenges, but every bar, instead of being a single stroke, is doubled into two thin parallel lines separated by a constant gap. It is the trellis style, rendered in a double version, almost an echo: a geometric design that will not settle for the single line and chooses repetition as a form of rigour.

The ground is ivory, pale and open; the pairs of lines wear a muted terracotta, while at the crossings, where the strokes overlap, a deeper anthracite appears, the exact point where the structure becomes evident. Looking closely you find the small intervals between the twin lines and the sharpness of the diamond vertices: details that speak of a design made to hold up to the close look as much as to the overall one.

I wanted this weave to be universal, suited to any room and any light, because geometry, when it is measured, belongs to no single interior: it accompanies the quiet of a house as it does the sobriety of a studio, the threshold of a refined welcome. In every case it stays a discreet gesture, never invasive, able to leave a wall free to breathe.
