Spighe di Provenza

I sign the Spighe di Provenza wallpaper the way you sign a silent garden, gathered onto a single wall. It belongs to the Flora family, and I choose it to tell one precise motif: the spikes of Lavandula angustifolia, each a slender stem rising into a tapered cone of overlapping triangular bracts, held by pairs of narrow leaves crossing in a small V. I conceived them as flat vector shapes, without shadow, with clean outlines, scattered in a tiny, regular weave that breathes on the ground: each spike tilted its own way, none touching another.

The palette stays faithful to the real flower — dusty violet and soft mauve for the bracts, muted sage green for the leaves, on a warm ivory ground that takes the light without ever giving too much of it back. Small notches mark the edge of each bract, a single vein runs the length of the leaf: details found only close up, like a memory of a field coming back into focus.
